Work, Boys, & Videos

APRIL:
-lost 30 of 40 lbs, so far, hoping to lose more than the 40 (weighed more than I had needed to begin with)
-getting about 4 to 5 hours sleep a nite, drinking ALOT of coffee!! either getting more sleep or getting used to no sleep. but I am doing much better for the most part.
-started back to work last week, doing well, I missed working with my software, had not touched it in two and a half months!! plenty of projects to keep me busy.
-on an organization & cleaning kick in the house, the coffee helps LOL!! getting plenty done that i couldn't do while preggo & on bedrest!
-getting sad & nervous about Jareth starting kindergarten in a couple weeks!

DONNIE:
-adjusting well to full-time daddy in the morning, has yet to have to call mom at work
-not sure about how much sleep he is getting, but he seems to be doing good for the couple days he has been alone.

JARETH:
-46 lbs, 3ft & 10 in @ 5 & 1/2 years old
-he has decided that when he grows up (at age 10) he wants to have hair on his arm-pits, be a baseball player, be a chef, play golf (not sure where that came from), have a license to drive a car, and be able to do what-ever he wants to do!
-one of his projects has been growing these seeds. they are green beans & peas. here are the photos of him mixing the soil up to fill the "see-through window", and the growing plants:

-checked out TEN books @ the library lask week
including the VERY COOL: animal drawing book, sign language book, solar system book, & glow-in-the dark constellation book
-below is a photo of the first drawing he made using the step-by-step drawing book of animals. he drew a cat, a bird, a parrot, two fish, a mouse, a guinea pig,and a turtle, -- then he wrote "mom" next to the cat.

-we have been learning sign language as well, and he is very proud to have learned to sign his name, so he wanted to make a video to show everyone what he has learned:

FENIX:
- 9 weeks old, & according to OUR scale at home, he weighs 13lbs now, big chunk!

-he is trying to sleep for longer periods of time. mom got 4 1/2 hours of sleep STRAIGHT last nite YAY!!!
-he is also finding is voice and randomly yelling and talking, and is a huge wiggle butt! he can't sit still! here is his most current video, just a wigglin' like crazy!!

Six Weeks & Summer

DOC APPT
Well, it's been six weeks since Fenix was born. I had my doctors appointment on July 14th, I am healing well. My daily headaches and migraines came back one week after delivery, I started taking my medication again, but it did not work well. So the doc has upped my dosage, warning me that it would make me drowsy. (GREAT! that is all I need, to be more sleepy) BUT, it seems to be working well. I still have not gotten to the dentist to get my teeth pulled, so i did get some antibiotics to help with some infections in my mouth. AND the doctor gave the OK to start back to work on July 21st. (not like I want to start back, but I will be taking the 1st couple weeks easy, working only a couple days a week. Hoping sleep will get better, or I will get used to it)

FENIX
Fenix is not getting much better with sleeping at nite, still about 3-5 hours. He takes ALOT of 10-30 min naps all day long. BUT we are getting him to sleep in the playpen for that time at nite. He can eat 5 oz if he wants to. but he averages about 3-4 oz every 2-3 hours. He is getting HUGE, just a big chunck! He is now smiling without it being gas, he smiles at mom and dad all the time now. I think he smiles at mom more when he poops and pukes on me tho. He is also starting to find his voice, with litte coos here and there, but does have a temper (inherited from mom, I think) and can yell and cry to let ya know when he needs something or when you are doing something wrong. He will have his next doc appt at 2 months to have his 1st set of shots, I will schedule it for the beginning of Aug.

JARETH
Jareth is still loving his video games, computer games, & movies; but also been spending alot of time at Grandma's house this summer. He has a pool and swing set there, so hes getting alot of outside time, and more one on one time. He is also starting to take a bigger interest in art and craft projects. He loves drawing pictures of the family and of Star Wars characters, watercolors, play-dough, & making masks.

We are getting ready for school to start, getting school supplies together. Also have been working on academics all summer to be ready for school, he can now: say his alphabet, recognize & write almost all letters, spell & write his name, count to 12, AND reconize & write numbers up to 11. PLUS, since the addition of his little brother, he has become more understanding, patient, and just more grown-up in general. I am VERY proud of him. He has come a loooong way in just a couple months. I think he will do great in kindergarten this next year!

Fenix is ONE month old!

Today, July 2nd 2008, Fenix is ONE month old! He will not have a doc appt until he is two months old, but he did have a WIC appt yesterday and weighed in at 9 lbs 12 oz (with his clothes and diaper on). So as mom and dad keep saying, he is a BIG PIG, now eating up to 4 oz per sitting.

He is liking the bath now, and has even fallen asleep in the warm water. Sleeping on the other hand is not getting any better, he is staying awake longer -- TEN HOURS STRAIGHT -- the other day, but is an attention hog and as soon as you lay him down he will pop his eyes open and get angry with you. This is making things hard on both me and Don, Jareth is having no problem with it though. He tells everyone that Fenix is awake at his bedtime and sleeps when he wakes up. He is very understanding when mom needs a nap!

I am healing well, with just a few twinges of discomfort from time to time. My six week check-up will be on July 15th and I will start back to work the week after that. Which I am already dreading, hopefully Fenix will cooperate some.
